How to Make a Paper Bag Pirate Puppet

Need a quick how-to for making your paper bag pirate puppets? Here are some quick step-by-step instructions from our teacher team!

  1. Fold a regular sized, brown paper lunch bag in half vertically and glue the two sides together.
  2. This forms a long, rectangle shape with a hole at the bottom for students to use as a puppet.
  3. Colour in the cutouts on the template.
  4. Design your pirate’s outfit.
  5. Cut out all of the pieces you need.
  6. Glue the template pieces and clothing pieces onto the paper bag!

    Hi, I don't quite understand the folding and gluing of the paperpag? Could you please be more specific about that, as in vertical or horizontal fold and where in relation to the bag opening?? TIA

      Hi Lisa, Thank you for your question! The cutouts are designed to fit on a paper bag folded in half vertically, with the opening at the bottom.
