This 18-slide deck supports teacher instruction to help enable students to identify similarities and differences between 2-D shapes.

🟡 🟪 2D Shapes Similarities and Differences Teaching Presentation🔺🔶

Teach your students the names and features of eight different 2D shapes! This colourful and engaging digital activity will build students’ knowledge of 2D shapes and have them compare the properties of each shape with another.

The presentation:

  • Explains what shape properties are
  • Introduces each 2D shape and identifies its properties
  • Includes additional shape facts to help students remember the shape names and differences, and
  • Prompts students to compare four sets of two 2D shapes using a simple table.

Display this Interactive Activity on your smartboard in Presenter View. Review the shape page and discuss the 2D shape’s features before moving on to the consolidation page, which requires students to compare and contrast shape sets.

Through this activity, students will show that they can recognise 2D shapes and are able to identify the similarities and differences between shapes.
