30 drawing tasks to promote mindfulness in your classroom.
The lives of today’s students are jam-packed with action and activity. For many of our students, the sheer amount of “things” happening in their lives can lead to heightened stress and anxiety. For this reason, there is great value in teaching your students the practice of mindfulness.
Drawing is a tried and true mindfulness technique. It enables us to be calm and to be fully present in the moment through the action of putting pencils to paper.
You can incorporate these drawing tasks into your daily or weekly schedule to promote mindfulness in your classroom. You might like to have the students complete a task when they come in after lunch or when they arrive first thing in the morning.
