And… Action! Adverbs Drama Game

When teaching about parts of speech, things can become a little… how do we put this…dry! That’s why our expert teacher team have developed this dramatic roleplay classroom game. Throughout this activity, your students will practise actually using adverbs in everyday speech, in various scenarios. 

So what are we waiting for? Let’s get them up out of their desks for some active learning and fun!

  • 28 adverb cards with pictures.

Use this dramatic roleplay game in small group rotations, or as a whole class activity!

Using This Drama Game in Your Classroom

The best thing about this resource is how super simple it is to set up and use!

  • Print, cut and laminate all adverb cards.
  • Display adverb word list for all students to see.
  • Students sit in a circle.
  • Take turns picking out a card without showing anyone.
  • Students act out their adverb and peers try to guess what it is.

Print on cardboard for added durability and longevity. Place all pieces in a folder or large envelope for easy access. 

To keep the cards out of pockets or under desks, punch a hole in the corner of each to place them on a binder ring.
