Learn about the stars in the night sky with this printable mini-book designed for year 1 and 2 students.

Stars in the Sky – Stars for Kids!

Your students probably know some of the basic things they see in the sky. Whether it is the moon that lights up the night sky or clouds that look like puffy balls of cotton, these objects are noticed by students at a very young age.

As students begin to learn more about the world around them, they may be inquisitive and ask questions about objects in the sky.

Teach Starter has created a printable mini-book to use with your foundation and year 1 students during your space and solar system lessons. This book has 10 mini-pages where students will learn about the different kinds of stars, how they can be grouped together, and what they are made of.

There are 2 versions of this book, one that is a reader and one that has fill-in-the-blank spaces for students to complete sentences.

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your science lessons.

In addition to individual student work time, use this mini-book to enhance learning through guided science groups, whole class lessons or remote learning assignments.

If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:

🆘 Support Struggling Students

If there are students needed additional support, encourage them to read the book with a peer or a teacher.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

For students who need an additional challenge, encourage them to draw a picture of the night sky and label objects that they see.
