Year 7 Maths Worksheets

Introducing our new worksheet designed to help students master the concept of finding the area of a triangle. This worksheet features a total of 13 problems, including 10 standard practice problems and 3 application problems.

The 10 standard practice problems are designed to help students understand the basic formula for finding the area of a triangle. They will be asked to use the base and height of the triangle to calculate its area. These problems are ideal for students who are just starting to learn about the concept of area and need a lot of practice to build their skills.

The 3 application problems, on the other hand, are designed to help students apply what they have learned to real-world situations. These problems will challenge students to think critically and use their knowledge of area to solve practical problems. For example, students may be asked to find the area of a triangular garden plot or to calculate the amount of paint needed to cover a triangular wall.

An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!  

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding 

For students who need an additional challenge, encourage them to create a triangle with different measurements but the same area.

If students need additional support, provide a multiplication chart to help with basic maths facts. Additionally, consider using the editable version to create problems with smaller numbers.

Turn this teaching resource into a sustainable activity by printing on cardboard and slipping it into a dry-erase sleeve. Students can record their answers with a whiteboard marker, then erase and reuse them. 

Additionally, project the worksheet onto a screen and work through it as a class by having students record their answers in their notebooks.
