Boost your students’ understanding of arrays and multiplication with this engaging Kaboom card game.

What Is an Array?

If your students are starting to learn about the concept of multiplication, chances are they will be introduced to the vocabulary term, ‘array.’ In maths, an array refers to a rectangular arrangement of objects in rows and columns. It is often used to represent multiplication and can help students visualise concepts such as multiplication tables, factors and products. For example, a 2×6 array would have 2 rows and 6 columns, resulting in 12 total objects. Students can use their understanding of skip counting and multiples to determine the total number represented in an array.
