Encouraging Children to Ask for Help 🗯️

Are you discussing with your class how and when to ask for help? This comic strip template is the perfect way for students to show their understanding while providing a real-life example through a comic strip. Let their creative juices flow but drawing and sharing through a comic:

  • When to ask for help
  • How to ask for help
  • Who to go to for help
  • How it feels when you ask for help

This activity promotes critical thinking, empathy, and encourages students to express their opinions through visual storytelling.

Asking for Help Lesson Idea

After discussing and discussing the different elements of asking for help from a trusted adult using these classroom posters, as a class, brainstorm different reasons for needing help, how to ask for help, who you can go to for help and how it feels when they do ask for help.

Then, have your students complete this comic strip using the information the class has brainstormed; you might like to have them share their comic strips with a partner.
