Who Is Miranda Gibson?

Can you imagine living in a tree for an entire year? Because that is exactly what Miranda Gibson did!

Miranda Gibson is an Australian conservationist. She grew up surrounded by the beautiful forests of Tasmania and always felt a deep connection to the trees and animals that live there. As she grew older, Miranda realised that these forests were in danger. Trees were being cut down, and animals were losing their homes.

In 2011, Miranda did something incredible. She climbed up into a giant eucalyptus tree and lived there for more than a year! In doing this, Miranda brought attention to the plight of Australia’s diminishing eucalyptus forests. She now travels around Australia, speaking about the importance of conserving the environment.
