Who Is Tim Flannery?

Tim Flannery is an important Australian scientist and conservationist. He has spent many years studying the natural world and working to protect it. Tim is passionate about saving the environment and teaching people how to take care of our planet.

Tim Flannery is known for his efforts to protect endangered species. He has worked on projects to save animals like the tree kangaroo and the leatherback turtle. By studying these animals and their habitats, Tim has helped create plans to keep them safe from extinction. He believes that every species is important and deserves a chance to survive.

Learn About Tim Flannery During National Science Week 2024

The theme for National Science Week 2024 is “Species Survival – More Than Just Sustainability”. The theme is one that resonates strongly with Tim Flannery’s conservation work.

This reading passage and comprehension activity have been designed by our teacher team to educate your students about the life and conservation work of Tim Flannery. It explains how Tim is working to educate people about the dangers of climate change, as well as teaching about the steps we can all take to preserve our environment.

After reading the passage, students are then required to answer 10 comprehension questions based on the content in the text. Questions include multiple-choice, true/false and free-response questions.
