Learn about animals and their babies with a pack of printable Animal Babies Reading Worksheets for Years 1 & 2.
Let’s Take a Look At Animals and Their Babies!
Did you know that baby kangaroos are no bigger than a grape? Did you know that baby elephants weigh 250 pounds at birth? There is a lot of information about animals and their babies, so it’s hard to decide what to teach young learners about these amazing creatures.
These reading passages are designed to get back to basics. Written for students in years 1-2, each reading passage contains basic information about the animal and their babies for students to read and comprehend. Once they’ve read the passage, they will then answer three short-answer comprehension questions regarding what they’ve learned.
This printable resource pack includes a set of five comprehension passages with questions about the following animals
- Giraffes
- Lions
- Elephants
- Kangaroos
- Alligators
- Penguins
Each passage can be used as an assessment or guided reading activity for your students.
