Use a printable behaviour frequency chart to track student progress toward behaviour goals.
What is a Behaviour Frequency Chart?
A behaviour frequency chart is a tool for recording and analysing how often specific behaviours occur over a certain period. It is commonly used in various fields, such as psychology, education, and behaviour analysis, to track and modify behaviour patterns.
Key Components of a Behaviour Frequency Chart
What are the components of a behaviour frequency chart? Here’s a quick look at what they include:
- Target Behaviour(s): Clearly defined behaviours that the teacher observes and tracks. These can be positive behaviours (e.g., raising a hand to speak in class) or negative behaviours (e.g., instances of aggression).
- Time Period: The period of time over which the behaviour is observed and recorded. This could be in terms of days, weeks, or months. It can also include individual blocks of time during the school day.
- Frequency Recording: A method for recording each instance of the target behaviour. This can be done using tally marks, checkboxes, or other entries.
- Date and Time: Specific dates and times when the behaviour occurs, providing more detailed records for analysis.
This printable behaviour frequency chart is the perfect tool to help you observe, note, and analyse student behaviours throughout the school day and over the course of a full week of school. It makes the perfect template for collecting data for IEP meetings, parent conferences, and more!
