Get Students to Share the Books They Love!

Get your learners excited about reading and sharing their favourite books with a printable book review worksheet.

Invite your students into the school or classroom library and encourage them to find a book they love and would like to share with the world. From there, provide them with a copy of the worksheet template, and set them off on the path to sharing the best books they can find.

The template requires the students to add the following information:

• The book I am reviewing is…
• The author of this book is…
• The illustrator of this book is…
• Star rating out of 5
• I choose this rating because…
• The book is about…

The students are also required to draw a picture of their favourite part of the story.

Further Ideas for This Book Review Template

Looking for variations on how you might use this book review template with your students?

Why not make the review a buddy activity between a younger and an older student? Have the older student read the younger student one of their favourite books, then have the students fill out the review template together. Encourage the students to discuss each question and compare their opinions.

Alternatively, have students complete the activity by reading a book at home with a parent or carer and then completing a shared review of the text.
