A STEM challenge suitable for students in the upper years.
Use this STEM challenge to encourage critical thinking and problem-solving in a design technology context.
Students design and construct a pirate ship that can remain afloat whilst holding as many coins as possible. The boat that can hold the most coins wins! The task enables students to use a variety of materials in order to solve the design challenge.
The teaching resource contains a task card that outlines the challenge and a worksheet for recording and reflecting upon the design process.
Full colour, low colour and black and white versions are available.
I am a TE specialist. When I got to sign up I am asked to select a grade. I need access to 1 - 6, not just one grade. Is this possible?
Hi Anthony, At this stage, you cannot select this as an option. It is a feature we will be adding in the not too distant future. Your current will not directly affect the resources you see when you search, you can always filter your search by specific year level and even a combination of year levels by using the search options bar. If there is anything else I can assist you with, please don't hesitate to contact me.
