Teach students how to calculate the perimeter with this drag-and-drop digital activity, perfect for whole-class and individual learning.
Calculate Perimeter with a Digital Activity
Is that perimeter worksheet you were going to photocopy for your perimeter maths lesson buried somewhere on your desk? Forget about it! With Teach Starter’s digital perimeter activity, you can skip the photocopy queue and move straight on to the important stuff… teaching your students!
This digital activity has been designed by our passionate teacher team to help your students calculate the perimeter of a variety of composite shapes. The resource includes a combination of multiple choice drag-and-drop slides, and type-the-answer slides. There are 10 question slides altogether.
Answers are provided on a separate PDF (just to avoid temptation for those young eyes!)
This resource provides a great opportunity for your students to demonstrate how well they can calculate the perimeter of composite shapes.
Differentiate This Perimeter Activity
We know that teachers are doing their absolute best to provide differentiated instruction for the diverse needs of the learners in their classrooms. To help you achieve the best outcomes for your learners, here are some ideas for how you might differentiate the application of this resource.
- Remove the Options – Why not make this activity a little more challenging for your more-capable learners by removing the answer options from the side of the relevant slides? This will make your students have to think a little bit more carefully about each answer!
- Give Them the Pencil and Paper – Mental calculations come easier to some learners than others. Provide whiteboards and markers to those students who may benefit from drawing and/or writing down calculations to help them answer the questions. The aim of the activity is learner success, not learner stress!
