Comparing Properties of Rocks – Make It Fun With Interactive Games!

Unlock the wonders of geology with Teach Starter! This year, we’re excited to help you bring rock and mineral exploration to life for young learners as they discover how to observe, compare, and describe different rocks based on their unique physical properties. Let’s get started with our newest resource – a Comparing Rocks Science Game!

Comparing Physical Properties of Rocks Game

You don’t need a worksheet to teach your students about the physical properties of rocks and minerals…not when you have an exciting Interactive Comparing Rocks Game for Early Years!

With this interactive game,  students will develop their understanding of the physical properties of rocks by observing, describing, and sorting rocks by size, shape, colour, and texture. This activity features grade-appropriate questions that build students’ abilities to observe and explain the features of rocks with ease.

This self-checking interactive game requires students to observe two examples of rock and determine if the two samples have the same colour, size, texture, or shape. Students will answer each question by clicking the Yes or No buttons. If they answer correctly, the slides will advance. They will be reminded to try again if an answer needs to be corrected.
