Challenge your word enthusiasts and get them to show off their knowledge of compound words by allowing them to compete in a Compound Words A to Z Challenge! This printable compound word activity encourages students to develop their vocabulary skills by brainstorming and writing a compound word that starts with each letter of the alphabet.
How to Play:
- Give each student or pair of students an A to Z Challenge worksheet.
- Read the directions and discuss the challenge, noting how students may modify their responses for the letters X and Z.
- Set a timer for five minutes and tell students when to begin.
- The student or student with the most correctly spelled compound words at the end of the time period wins!
