Blend vocabulary and art with an engaging set of Read and Draw Compound Words Worksheets!
Make Time for Art in the Classroom With Us!
As teachers, we know how much kids love when they get to do anything art-related in the classroom. But sometimes, there is just too much curriculum to teach, so art often gets pushed aside. This year, we challenge you to bring art back into the classroom, starting with a few fun, artsy Vocabulary lessons covering compound words!
Read and Draw Compound Words Worksheets
The concept is simple…kids love to draw, and they’ll take it anytime they get the opportunity to! That’s why we’ve created this fun set of compound word Read & Draw worksheets. To use, students will read each compound word aloud, then draw and colour a picture to match. While it seems quite simple, some compound words are ones that students will have to think about. You could even change up the directions a bit and make it more challenging, such as
- Draw the two images that make up the compound word
- Use each compound word in a sentence on the back of the sheet.
- Challenge them to draw the picture using a single line or using only straight lines.
- And more!
We have included five fun variations with differentiated word levels, starting with simple and moving upward with more challenging and thought-provoking words.
