The ‘wr’ digraph is a dynamic duo that often teams up to create a unique sound in words. Together, they bring a special kind of magic to the English language, and we’re here to make discovering it a thrilling experience for your students.
This fun building site-themed interactive activity has been created by an experienced teacher with little learners at the forefront of the design. The activities students will complete include:
- Look at pictures and decide if the object contains the ‘wr’ sound or not, and use a tick or a cross to show their understanding.
- Sorting words into a ‘wr’ list and a ‘not wr’ list.
- Typin the correct word in for a set of four pictures including – wristband, whip, wrench and unwrap.
- Read a simple sentence that contains a word with the ‘wr’ digraph and matching an image to each sentence.
- Sorting real and nonsense words that include the ‘wr’ digraph.
- Look at pictures and decide which word matches the image. x 4.
- Finding ‘wr’ digraph in a small paragraph of writing.
