Mastering Contractions: Fun and Learning with Our Flipbook!
This flipbook has been created by a teacher especially for young learners to explore six essential contractions. The following contractions are included in this flipbook:
- Doesn’t – does not
- We’ve – we have
- She’d – she would
- They’ll – they will
- We’re – we are
- Couldn’t – could not
Each page of the flipbook provides a space for students to write a sentence using one of these contractions and draw a picture that illustrates the sentence. This hands-on approach ensures that kids not only learn the contractions but also comprehend their meanings and uses in everyday language.
How to Create this Flipbook
Although this flipbook does use a bit of paper per student – you won’t regret getting them to complete this engaging activity. Here are some steps for getting organised with this resource:
- Give each student a copy of the writing pages. Run them as a packet and staple them for easier distribution.
- Have students cut out each flipbook page along the dotted line.
- Once all 8 pages are cut apart, have students stack them from largest to smallest, lining up the top.
- Staple together across the top to assemble the flipbook!
