Engage Students With Converting Units of Measurement Games

Looking for some fun converting units of measurement games? ‘Build’ your students’ confidence with metric conversions of length with this engaging construction-themed board game! This game challenges students to convert among millimetres, centimetres, metres and kilometres. Featuring fun, construction-themed elements, this resource makes learning feel less like work and more like play.

Included in this resource:

  • Student instructions
  • Game board
  • Spinner template
  • Game pieces
  • 36 game cards
  • Answer key

Whether used in maths stations, small groups or as a class competition, this board game is one of our many converting units of measurement games that will help your students ‘measure up’ and master metric conversions.

Our Measurement Board Games are Easy to Play

Like our other measurement board games, “Construction Conversions” is easy to learn and play. Here are the instructions:

  1. Print the resource, and cut out the cards and any other pieces you may need.
  2. Give each group a game board, a set of game cards and a spinner (to be used with a paperclip and pencil) or a 4-sided die.
  3. Have each player select a game piece and place it at the starting line. The player with the longest first name goes first.
  4. Player 1 spins the spinner and moves forward the appropriate number of spaces.
  5. If a player lands on a space that has a picture of a construction symbol, they draw a card and answer the question. The next player in line should check the answer key to see if the answer is correct.
  6. If the player is correct, they may stay in their space. If the player is incorrect, they must return to their previous space
  7. The first player to the finish line wins!

We recommend printing this resource on cardboard and then laminating it for longevity.
