Social Activities for Classroom SEL Instruction

Teachers around the world firmly believe in the capability of a positive and cooperative learning environment to help students succeed and stay engaged in their studies. Teach Starter is here to help you get started with our latest creation – the Cooperation Quilt template – crafted specifically to assist you in encouraging cooperative behaviour amongst your learners. We are excited to see the positive impact this resource will have on your classrooms!

Make a Cooperation Quilt! Social Emotional Learning Craft

This resource is a fun way to engage your students in mindful and intentional reflection about cooperation and how they can show cooperative behaviour. Using our printable template, students will write to tell what cooperation is, what it looks like, what it shouldn’t look like, and how they plan on exemplifying proper behaviours. They will then colour and cut out the template to create a fun, collaborative quilt display for the hallway.

This resource download includes a printable template in PDF format. We also recommend the following materials.

  • Scissors
  • Glue Sticks
  • Pencils
  • Crayons or Coloured Pencils
  • Tape or Staples to Hang Finished Quilt Squares

This resource was created by Lindsey Phillips, a Teach Starter Collaborator.
