Counting by 5’s Worksheet — Curriculum Goals

Use this independent practice worksheet to support your skip counting lesson.

Students will make a path from the balloons to the party by correctly counting by 5’s up to 100, colouring each box as they count.

We’ve included an answer sheet with this download for students to self-check their work.

Scaffolding + Extension Tips

In addition to individual student work time, use this counting by 5’s worksheet as a:

  • maths rotation activity
  • maths warm-up
  • brain break
  • fast finisher activity
  • homework assignment.

Fast finishers can write numbers 1-100 on the back of the worksheet, skip counting by 5, and then 10.

Students who need more help can use a visual reminder of the correct order of numbers, such as a hundreds chart displayed in the classroom or on their desk plates.

How To Prepare This Resource

Because this activity includes an answer sheet, we suggest printing one copy of the entire activity and making photocopies of the worksheet for students to complete.

Sustainability Tip: Print a few copies on thick card and slip them into dry-erase sleeves. Students can record their answers with a dry-erase marker, then erase and reuse.
