🐻 Practise Counting Objects With a Bear Hunt!
Can you find all of the bears? This resource was designed to help your students count 6 to 10 objects and recognise the corresponding numeral.
To play, students will choose a card, count the items, and cover the corresponding number with a manipulative. Students can work individually, in pairs, or with a small group. Try to cover as many bears as you can!
Through this activity, students will show they can use one-to-one correspondence and count 6 to 10 objects.
Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding
A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your maths lessons.
In addition to partner work time, use this counting game to enhance learning through guided math groups or as a fast finisher activity.
If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:
🆘 Support Struggling Students
Help students who need help understanding the concepts by inviting students to cover items with manipulatives. Students can pick up or move each item as they count.
➕ Challenge Fast Finishers
For fast finishers, encourage students to think of a number 1 more or 1 less than the number of objects shown on their card.
