Cut and Paste Letter Sounds Worksheet Pack
This Beginning Letter Sound Picture Match Worksheet Pack includes 13 different versions, each with a cut-and-paste element. Students are required to either match a letter to an image to demonstrate their understanding of beginning sounds or sort images under the correct beginning letter sound.
Answer sheets are also included in this download to make it easy for students to self-monitor. Each letter of the alphabet is covered in this set of worksheets.
Here are some tips differentiation:
- Provide only one worksheet at a time for struggling learners, for more advanced learners they can cope with a couple of worksheets at a time.
- Vary the instruction piece, for struggling learners you may need to scaffold their learning more before introducing these worksheets. Break down the instructions and have them just do one match first and then come back to you for the next instruction/
- For more advanced learners – get them to draw or write other words that start with each of those letter sounds.
Letter Sound Knowledge Activities
This set of cut and paste worksheets can be turned into more hands-on activities for those classes that may need that extra movement element, here are some suggestions:
- Pre-laminate and cut and have them use this more as a sorting activity in small groups or in pairs.
- Cut up the images and stick them around the classroom and have students go on a scavenger hunt to find the matching pictures for their worksheets.
