Diphthong Journal for Phonics Learning

Print out this journal specifically for learning about diphthongs and have students complete each sheet as they learn about different diphthongs. Students are prompted to draw and write words they already know that contain a particular diphthong, then add new words they learn through their phonics journey. • Use it to work out what students may already know about particular diphthongs.
• Students can also search for words in books containing a particular diphthong and add it to their list.
• Students can use words in their lists to write sentences or definitions of particular words.
