What is International Dot Day?

As the world gears up for International Dot Day, creative minds from around the globe are getting ready to observe this special day. Teachers are set to motivate and encourage students to explore their creativity through fun and engaging art tasks in classrooms worldwide.

Based on the book The Dot by Paul Reynolds, International Dot Day inspires young learners to be creative and use their inventiveness to create works of art. This day offers an excellent chance to get creative, and it blends well with number sense activities that make maths fun!

The best part of Dot Day is celebrating it across the curriculum! In this worksheet, your students will solve a mixture of basic multiplication and division facts and then colour an abstract circle art picture using a student-made colour key—a fun take on a traditional maths practice.

It’s a perfect way to blend your maths lessons into International Dot Day classroom celebrations.

Versatile and Fun Multiplication and Division Practise

In addition to individual student work time, use this colour-by-number activity as a

Fast finishers can create their own dot day artworks on the back of the page and turn them into colour-by-number activities themselves!

Support students who need more help can use a printable multiplication chart displayed in the classroom or on their desk plates.
