What is a Writing Station
A writing station is a designed classroom area where students can engage in independent writing activities. This type of station can be a great addition to any classroom, as it encourages students to practise their writing skills in a fun and non-pressured environment. Here are some tips when setting up your writing station in your classroom:
- Choose a quiet location away from distraction and easily accessible.
- Gather supplies such as lined paper, sticky notes, pencils, and vocabulary cards.
- Set expectations for your students around what they use the writing station for and how to behave.
- Model and practise using the writing station.
