Introducing Our Printable Elapsed Time Activities!

Are your students struggling to nail down the concept of elapsed time? They’re not alone. Elapsed time is one of the most challenging topics for your year 3 and 4 students to understand. There are strange strategies, different types of problems, start times, end times, and everything in between. But no worries, the Teach Starter Team has been working hard to create helpful resources for your students to get in some much-needed practise with elapsed time.

Grab Our Brand-New Elapsed Time Practice Pack!

These printable elapsed time practise worksheets are excellent tools to give your students additional practise with a difficult concept. We’ve included a variety of levelled elapsed time practise worksheets to help your students with their different learning needs. This printable elapsed time maths worksheet pack contains the following.

  • Elapsed Time Worksheet 1 – Hour and Half-Hour

  • Elapsed Time Worksheet 2 – Quarter Hour

  • Elapsed Time Worksheet 3 – Elapsed Time to 5 Minutes

  • Elapsed Time Worksheet 4 – Elapsed Time by the Minute

  • Elapsed Time Worksheet 5 – Mixed Elapsed Time Word Problems

Each worksheet provides the students with two analogue clocks. They must look at the analogue clock and then follow the directions to add or subtract an amount of time from what is shown. Once students have found the end time, they will draw the hands on the second clock to represent the new time.

Ways to Use Your Elapsed Time Practice Worksheets

  • Project our worksheets onto interactive whiteboards for dynamic classroom discussions. Engage students in collaborative problem-solving activities that promote critical thinking and peer learning.
  • Transform our worksheets into maths challenges. Set timers and encourage students to complete tasks within specified time frames, enhancing their time management skills alongside elapsed time practise.
