Teaching Empathy to Kids?
We understand that helping your students understand the term ‘empathy’ can be a bit tricky. After all, this is quite a big word for little learners! Let’s take a quick look at how you can explain this social awareness concept to your students.
Empathy is when you can understand and share the feelings of someone else. For example, when your friend is sad because they lost their favorite toy, you can imagine how it would feel if you lost your favorite toy, too.
When a person is empathetic, they are kind and caring to others and try to help them when they are happy or sad. It’s like having a big heart that can understand how other people feel!
