Memory Wheel – End of Year Activity

Are you looking for an activity to get your students’ minds spinning? Give students the opportunity to reflect upon their past year with a fun, hands-on way to display their memories.

To complete the memory wheel, choose which template you would like to use. Students will receive a writing template and a wheel cover. There are three different versions of the writing template. Students will answer the prompts, colour the cover wheel and cut each piece out. Assemble the wheel by placing the cover over the writing template. Fasten the two pieces together with a split pin in the middle.

Through this activity, students will show they can use their writing skills to reflect on the past year.

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

In addition to individual student work time, use this writing activity to enhance learning through guided groups or whole class lessons.

If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:

🆘 Support Struggling Students

Help students who need help understanding the concepts by providing the three- question template first. Students can brainstorm ideas with a partner or small group.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

For students who need a bit of a challenge, provide the five-question template. Additionally, students can create a picture for the front or back of their memory wheel.
