The template guides students to record four key facts, making it an excellent tool for developing research and writing skills. Whether students are exploring a new subject or preparing to write an informative piece, this template provides a clear structure to capture essential details.
Ideas for Using This Research Template
Here are some ways you might like to use this fact file template in your lessons:
- Informative Writing Preparation – Use the template as a pre-writing activity for information reports. After researching their chosen topic, students can use the template to organise key facts before expanding them into full paragraphs.
- Brainstorming for Group Work – For group projects, students can use the template collaboratively to brainstorm facts about their assigned topic. Each student could be responsible for researching one fact, helping them develop teamwork and research skills.
- Lesson Summary –After a content-heavy lesson or unit of work, students can summarise the key information they’ve learned by recording four important facts in the template. This reinforces both retention and comprehension.
