An Inclusive Classroom Display Celebrating Families
What makes a family? So many things!
There is no right or wrong way to make a family! The students in your class will have fun celebrating their families in this bright classroom display.
Celebrating Uniqueness
Students will each create a colourful picture frame with characters that represent the members of their families. Some completed frames are included as examples.
Once the photo frame is complete, students will add a photo or drawing of their family. Then display the photo frames on the wall under the three-page banner that reads ‘Families come in all shapes and sizes’.
This is a perfect resource when exploring personal and family history or leading up to Mother’s or Father’s Day.
What Does Family Mean to You?
A lined version of the picture frames is also included as a download option for this resource. Use this version to have students write a small passage that completes the prompt ‘Family is…’
Students could write:
- the feelings they experience when with their family
- the activities they like to do as a family
- the members of their family
- what family means to them.
