This open-ended mathematics investigation has been designed to deepen students’ understanding of financial mathematics and measurement.
In this investigation, students must use their knowledge and understanding of a range of mathematical concepts to design a mini golf hole for their backyard. They are required to submit a detailed diagram and financial plan for their mini golf hole using the worksheets and supplementary materials provided within the resource.
This teaching resource includes:
- teacher notes, detailing a range of important information about the investigation
- a detailed description of the investigation for students, including step-by-step instructions
- golf supplies catalogue
- a design template
- various recording worksheets
- a checklist for students
- reflection questions.
I'd love to see a section where people who have completed this task are able to upload examples of what students have created!
Hi there Tanya. As the creator of this resource, I would love to see that, too! I'll definitely be taking this idea to our IT Development team. I hope you and your class had a great time planning your mini golf courses!
Do you have lesson plans available for these like you do with the class party investigation?
