Promote Fire Safety with a Word Search!

Remind your students of fire safety rules with this fun and engaging Word Search!

This word search activity is designed for our upper years’ students and includes sixteen fire safety-related terms to search for in the 14 x 14 letter grid. Words are hidden vertically, horizontally, diagonally, and in reverse order for an extra challenge!

An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

In addition to independent student work time, use this worksheet as an activity for:

  • Lesson warm-up
  • Lesson wrap-up
  • Fast finishers

🚀Engage your fast finishers by providing them with a blank grid to create their own fire safety prevention worksheet.

🆘Differentiate for your struggling readers and writers by providing them with the nearly identical primary version of the Fire Safety word search. It provides a shorter word list and does not include words hidden on the diagonal or in reverse order.

Easily Download & Print

Use the dropdown icon on the Download button to choose between the PDF or Google Slides version of this resource.

Because this resource includes an answer sheet, we recommend you print one copy of the entire file. Then, make photocopies of the blank worksheet for students to complete. To save paper, we suggest printing this 2-page worksheet double-sided.

Turn this teaching resource into a sustainable activity by printing on cardstock and slipping it into a dry-erase sleeve. Students can record their answers with a whiteboard marker, then erase and reuse them.
