Fraction Craft Ideas
Are you looking for an easy craft to integrate with your fractions unit? Your students will “Halve” fun creating these cute characters to demonstrate their understanding of a half! To complete this activity all you need to do is:
- paint the shapes in contrasting colors
- let them dry
- fold the first template in half
- cut it along the line so that it is in two parts
- glue one half of the first template over half of the second template
- decorate your funky shape with the provided pieces or use your own!
With this activity, students have the opportunity to create one of the fun funky characters! They can choose between a star, triangle or sun.
Through this activity, students will use their artistic skills and understanding of equal parts to create a shape that is partitioned into two pieces.
