Need Ideas for First Day of School Crafts? Try Something New
If you’re searching for Back to School All About Me projects for your classroom, you’re in the right place! This year, skip the standard Back to School poster or colouring sheet and try something new to make a statement about the fantastic new students that are in your class this year.
Turn Your All About Me Template Into a Quilt!
Let’s make a collaborative quilt! This printable template is the perfect way to engage your students and bring them together to create something unique to display during those first few weeks of school.
To create a classroom All About Me Day Quilt, your students will
- Think about what makes them unique.
- Draw and write to introduce themselves in each section. Draw a self-portrait in the centre.
- Colour the quilt square in shades of red, blue, yellow, and green.
- Cut out the quilt square and write their name on it.
- Combine their quilt squares with their classmates and hang them up in rows and columns to resemble a handmade quilt.
Quick Tip! If you have an odd number of students, hand out a couple of extra templates to teachers who also come into your room during the day. Don’t forget to make one yourself!
