Encourage Thoughtful Discussion Around Harmony Day

Use this set of two worksheets that has been designed to encourage fruitful discussions around the meaning of Harmony Day with your older students. The questions included in these worksheets are:

  • What does “harmony” mean to you, and why do you think it’s important for people to live in harmony with each other?
  • Can you think of a time when you felt included and valued because of your background or culture? How did it make you feel, and why is it important for everyone to feel that way?
  • Reflecting on Harmony Day events or activities you’ve participated in, what did you learn about different cultures, and how did it change your perspective?
  • Imagine a world where everyone embraced diversity and lived in harmony. What would that world look like, and what can you do to help create it?

These questions have been carefully crafted by a teacher to ensure fruitful discussion can occur in the classroom around Harmony Day.
