Personal Space Activity Ideas for the Classroom
- Personal space hula hoops – provide each student with a hula hoop and have them stand inside it. Explain the hula hoop represents their personal space.
- Bubble blowing – have the children blow bubbles and observe how they can expand and touch each other, representing personal space boundaries – talk about what happens when the bubbles collide and how it relates to personal space.
- Personal space collage – provide magazines, newspapers, etc., and ask children to create collages that show personal space. They can use pictures of people and objects that represent appropriate distance and physical boundaries.
