Your students are bound to find a story starter sentence that inspires and excites them within this set of 30 task cards! Some of the story starter sentences included in this resource are:

  • The sun rose over the horizon, casting its golden light across the…
  • My heart raced as I took my first step into the great unknown…
  • The wind howled through the trees, carrying with it a faint whisper…
  • The old book lay on the dusty shelf, waiting to be opened…
  • The rainbow shone, spanning the sky in all its vibrant colours…

Once your students have finished writing their story, have them edit it and then create a final copy. Our narrative booklet templates are perfect for this purpose… your students will feel like real authors when they produce a real-life book containing a story that they themselves have written! These could be added to a class collection, or even displayed in the school library.
