Use this template to write about an influential women in history for International Women’s Day. Once your students have spent some time research different influential women – have them pick one they would like to write about.

Our collection of International Women’s Day resources includes a number of profiles on different inspirational women from around the world. Once the writing tasks are completed and decorated – hang them up in your classroom, or display them around the school for other year levels to learn about different influential women in history.

What is International Women’s Day?

The United Nations officially recognised International Women’s Day in 1975, and it’s be honoured around the world ever since. But, why do we set this day aside every march, and what can our kids learn form it?

Explore the history and importance of setting aside a day to talk about the impact of women on society and ways to ensure there is gender quality in your own classroom. It’s also a great opportunity to learn about influential women in our history and how they’ve overcome the odds and made significant contributions to our society!
