Six mini jigsaw puzzles focusing on different places.

Use this teaching resource when beginning to study Geography and examining the features of different places.

Each four-piece puzzle has images of objects one would expect to see in a particular place. The places include:

  • a beach
  • a park
  • a supermarket
  • a bedroom
  • an alpine setting
  • a kitchen.

Each puzzle is cut in a unique way. Adhere the puzzle to thick cardboard for durability and distribute the puzzle pieces randomly to students.

Students are required to search for others whose pieces fit with their own. They then deduce why the objects depicted on the pieces go together as a puzzle.

Alternatively, all the puzzle pieces could be provided at a learning centre for students to sort and assemble.

The puzzle could also be used to build vocabulary skills.
