Multiple Base Ten Block Activities in One Resource

This set of base ten block matching cards includes number cards and base ten block representation cards of the numbers 1 through 120, for a total of 240 cards. This resource can be used in multiple ways to help your students increase their number recognition and place value skills. Here are a few ideas that are included in the resource:

  • Base Ten Buddy Students find the “Base Ten Buddy” who has the card matching the amount represented on their own card. 
  • “I Have, Who Has?” Game- Students call out what amount is represented on their card, and the student with the match answers. Play continues around the room. 
  • Memory Game– Students play a memory matching game with the card pairs of your choice. 
  • War Card Game- Students flip over cards to see who has the higher amount — winner takes all! 
  • Base Ten Block Build- Students use real base ten blocks to build the number shown on their card and then check their answer against the base ten block card.
