Give your students practise matching arrays and multiplication facts with these math worksheets for years 2 and 3.
Maths Definition of Array
Are your students learning about ways to represent multiplication this year? Perhaps they’ve learned some different strategies, such as repeated addition, skip counting and equal groups. Another strategy that students often use when learning how to multiply is using an array. So, what is an array, exactly? Let’s take a look at a kid-friendly definition to use with your students!
An array is a way to organise objects in rows and columns, like a grid. It helps you see how many things there are in all without counting them one by one.
Maths Arrays – Year 2 and 3 Worksheet
Teach Starter has created a matching worksheet to help your students make the connection between arrays and multiplication problems. This teacher-created resource has two versions, noted by either a single or double star in the upper right-hand corner. The one-star version uses multiplication facts with factors through 5. The two-star version uses factors through 10.
To complete this worksheet, simply guide your students to match the corresponding fact with its array and write in the correct product.
How to Get Your Array Worksheet
If you are ready for your students to practise their understanding of multiplication arrays, head on over to the green download button! Here, you will find the quick-print PDF file and the editable Google Slides option. If selecting the Google Slides document, please note that you will first be prompted to make a copy of the resource to your personal drive before accessing it.
This resource was created by Brittany Kellogg, a Teach Starter Collaborator.
