Accessible and Engaging Daily Vocabulary Practise

Do you have your students practise using new words each day? If not, you should definitely give it a try! By practising vocabulary with suffixes on a daily basis, students can better understand and analyse more challenging texts. They’ll be able to quickly identify and understand words they haven’t seen before by recognizing the suffix and understanding its meaning.

Daily vocabulary practise with suffixes also helps students build their own vocabulary. By learning new words with suffixes, they’ll be able to create and understand more complex words and ideas. It’s like giving them a toolbox of language skills that they can use to express themselves more effectively.

What Does the -Ment Suffix Mean?

The suffix -ment is added to the beginning of a word to create a new word that represents an action or process of doing something. It is often used to turn a verb into a noun.

Some examples of words that use the -ment suffix include:

  2. Management – the act of organizing or controlling something
  3. Movement – the act of moving or changing position
