Using This Converting Measurements Lesson

Downloading and using our converting measurements lesson is easy! Here are the simple steps to grabbing your copy and using it in the classroom. 

  1. Click the drop-down arrow on the download button and choose either the Google Slides or PowerPoint version of this metric measurement conversion lesson. 
  2. Display the lesson on your interactive whiteboard in slideshow/presentation mode. 
  3. Ask students to get out either a pencil and paper or a personal whiteboard and whiteboard marker so they may complete the example problems. 
  4. Go through the slides, using them to teach students about metric units of length and how to convert among them. Click to display each step to students individually. 
  5. At your direction, students should use their paper or whiteboard to attempt the problems they see. Circulate to gauge student understanding. 
  6. At the end of the lesson, ask students to complete the ‘Exit Ticket’ on a piece of paper or a sticky note, and collect them so you can assess progress.
