Mixture vs. Solution Sorting Activity

Do your students know the difference between a mixture and a solution? If your students can tell you that a mixture is when two or more substances are combined, and individual parts can be easily seen, then they are on the right path!

If you are looking for an activity for students to strengthen their understanding of mixtures and solutions, look no further! Teach Starter has created a sorting activity that you can use with your students. This download includes header cards, a recording sheet, and 24 sorting cards.

To play, print and cut out cards and headers, and make copies of the student recording sheet. Students should read and sort the cards as either a mixture or a solution.

Through this activity, students will show they can distinguish between a mixture and a solution.
