🌕 Moon Phases Printable Activity

How well do your students know the different phases of the moon? Do they know the difference between a New Moon and a Full Moon? Can they draw a Waxing Gibbous moon? If you are looking for an activity that can be used with your whole class or during center rotations, you have landed in the right place!

Teach Starter has created a set of 24 task cards that you can use with your students during your Earth and Space unit. Students will practice answering various questions, including multiple-choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank and opportunities to draw different moon phases.

To complete this activity, students must read the questions on the cards, determine the correct answer, and record their answers on the recording sheet. Students can check their answers using the answer key.

Through this activity, students will demonstrate their understanding of different moon phases.

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your science lessons.

🆘 Support Struggling Students

If there are students who need additional support, invite them to reference previous assignments, posters or anchor charts. Additionally, students can complete this activity in a small group or in a 1-on-1 setting.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

For students who need a bit of a challenge, encourage them to provide explanations for their answers to the true/false questions.
