A template to use to consolidate early multiplication skills.

Use this teaching resource when exploring different ways to represent multiplication.

In this activity, students create a multiplication word problem, then represent it as an array, as ‘groups of’, as a repeated addition number sentence, and as a multiplication number sentence. They also calculate the product.

The students’ work is then presented as a fold-out box.

It is recommended that this template be printed on a larger piece of paper so that there is enough space for students to write.
