How to Boost Students’ Self-Esteem
Boosting self-esteem in the classroom is a crucial aspect of creating a positive and supportive learning environment. Having students focus on what they have accomplished or achieved and being able to share this with their classmates is a great way to boost their self-esteem. Here are some other suggested self-esteem activities:
- Have a compliments circle – students sit down in a circle and provide a compliment to the person to the right of them.
- Create time for gratitude journal writing – this provides students with a positive outlook and self-reflection.
- Goal setting and reflection time – encourage your students to set short-term and long-term goals and reflect on their process.
- Invite guest speakers to come in and talk to your students about their personal stories of challenges and triumphs. This provides your students with role models.
